  • Say the word with me. For example: threshed
  • Tell the children the definition To thresh means to get the seeds out of their shells.
  • Help children make connections. Farmers thresh wheat. They thresh oats. They have threshing machines.
  • Say the word with me again: threshed.
  • Repeat for each target word.
  • Use all new words in a few sentences. Farmers thresh wheat with big machines. They get wheat seeds from husks.
